Coda is a neutered male, 3 year old Aussie/border collie mix. He loves to fetch, is athletic and smart and loves people. He is not good with cats. All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.org. All dogs have an adoption fee of $300 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Aussie Rescue of MN is here for support, advice and as a safety net for our dogs for the rest of their lives.

Louie

Louie

Male - 8 months

Louie is a 32 pound, neutered male who was born in May 2017. Of our 6 "mill dogs" he is the most social but still skittish. He likes people, enjoys being petted and being showered with attention. Loud and strange noises make him a bit skittish. With time and training this little guy will make a great companion. He loves playing and will entertain himself with balls and soft toys. He continues to learn house and people manners. A securely FENCED YARD will be required. Check out the cute video of him playing with a ball on our facebook page. This dog is one of the 6 dogs that were surrendered voluntarily to ARM from a commercial breeder. They spent their lives up to this point in kennels with other dogs and have had very little exposure to the world and people. They came with no leash skills and an avoidance to touch. They are timid and will REQUIRE A HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. They will require patience and time and a willingness to love them as they are, not as you wish them to be.

Nick

Nick

Male - 1 year

Nick is a gorgeous, speedy, affectionate ten-month-old aussie (littermate to Ina and Chris, birthdate is Feb 2017). He’s house-trained, though he doesn’t know to ask to go out. He also is extremely leery of being put on a leash or into his kennel, and he won’t come all the way to you or take a treat out of your hand. But if you put it on the floor right in front of him, he’ll very gratefully eat it up. Despite his being timid, Nick is charming! If you sit on the floor, he’ll come right over and stand close enough so that you can scratch behind his ears, and, after a few days of that, he’ll also lie right down on the floor along your leg, maybe even lick your ear. When he’s outside, he runs with a funny hopping and leaping gate, perhaps because he’s getting the first real exercise of his life. But watch out when he finds his stride: He’s built like an athlete, and will probably be able to put a greyhound through his paces! Nonetheless, even when he’s tired out, Nick is never really at rest yet. But he’s beginning to trust. This dog is one of the 6 dogs that were surrendered voluntarily to ARM from a commercial breeder. Sparta

Sparta

Male - 8

This little guy comes from an Amish puppy mill. He is sitting in a chair because when we got him he didn't know how to walk inside. Sparta is a mini that is about 8 years old and seems gentle but frightened. Sparta is 20# he spent so many years in a crate his muscles got weak but with excercise he is rapidly improving. He smiles when he is happy and he is smiling a lot now. he is learning to live in a house and it suits him just fine. All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.org. Tay

Tay

Male - 1-1/2 years

Tay is a 1 1/2 year old male aussie mix who was surrendered due to family circumstances. He is deaf, food motivated and knows some hand signals. He is good with other dogs, kids and seems disinterested in cats. Tay is trained to an invisible fence, crate trained and is good in the house. He looks like a small Great Dane.

Wendy

Wendy

Female - 4 years

Wendy is a four year old aussie who is slowly coming out of her shell. She enjoys playing with the other dogs in the foster home and is now comfortable with her foster mom, but is still afraid of the husband. The slightest thing can scare her and she immediately retreats to her safe spot-her crate. Wendy is completely housetrained and very gentle. We think Wendy would do best in a quiet home with a confident dog for a friend and example. Because she is a flight risk, we will require a securely fenced yard for her. Helping Wendy to enjoy life and receive her affection will be a very rewarding experience for the right home.

Winston

Winston

Male - 8

Winston is an 8 year old blue merle mini that is good with other dogs. He is shy/shutdown at this point. Winston is a mini who was taken to a vet to be euthanized. The vet refused and suggested the family contact us. They told us that they never socialized him and he had never been brushed. Understandably he is terrified and we have moved him to our quietest calmest foster. We will add more information as we get to know him. Zeus

Zeus

Male - 1 year

His foster's son named him Zeus (but he is more of a dork than that name suggests). This young boy is under a year old, loves people, other dogs, and is fine with cats. He is a typical young male clown and will make you laugh every day. He steals laundry and wiggles when you catch him with no remorse. He is NOT housetrained and needs an experienced dog owner to help him with that. He can be mouthy and quick to use his teeth in play. Due to that and a bit of (not serious) guarding behavior most families with young kids would not be a suitable home. Zeus is going to NEED A JOB. He would be great for someone that wants a performance dog for agility, obedience, etc. Something to keep his mind busy. He is biddable, focused on his handler and wants to work.
