Chris

Chris

Male - 1 year

Chris is a neutered male aussie born in Feb. 2017. He is a littermate to Ina and Nick. He is a quiet timid dog and will scoot away if you reach for him but is improving every day in his foster home. Check out his cute video of him playing with a toy on our facebook page. Chris will require a FENCED YARD. This dog is one of the 6 dogs that were surrendered voluntarily to ARM from a commercial breeder. They spent their lives up to this point in kennels with other dogs and have had very little exposure to the world and people. They came with no leash skills and an avoidance to touch. They are timid and will REQUIRE A HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. They will require patience and time and a willingness to love them as they are, not as you wish them to be.

Lucy

Lucy

Female - 8 months

Lucy is a spayed female aussie born in May 2017. She is a timid dog and will scoot away if you reach for her but is improving every day in her foster home. Lucy will require a FENCED YARD.

Maizy

Maizy

Female - 1 year

Maizy is a female mini aussie X that just turned 1 on Oct 10th. She is busy and full of energy. She gets along great with other dogs, cats and is good with kids. She can be suspicious of strangers (barks and shies away) but warms up quickly. She is more scared of men than women. Maizy knows a few basic commands and is house trained. An active family that wants to do activities with Maizy would be perfect.

Nick

Nick

Male - 1 year

Nick is a gorgeous, speedy, affectionate ten-month-old aussie (littermate to Ina and Chris, birthdate is Feb 2017). He’s house-trained, though he doesn’t know to ask to go out. He also is extremely leery of being put on a leash or into his kennel, and he won’t come all the way to you or take a treat out of your hand. But if you put it on the floor right in front of him, he’ll very gratefully eat it up. Despite his being timid, Nick is charming! If you sit on the floor, he’ll come right over and stand close enough so that you can scratch behind his ears, and, after a few days of that, he’ll also lie right down on the floor along your leg, maybe even lick your ear. When he’s outside, he runs with a funny hopping and leaping gate, perhaps because he’s getting the first real exercise of his life. But watch out when he finds his stride: He’s built like an athlete, and will probably be able to put a greyhound through his paces! Nonetheless, even when he’s tired out, Nick is never really at rest yet. But he’s beginning to trust.

Sara

Sara

Female - 3 years

Sara is 3 years old and about 40 pounds. She is gentle and sweet and loves to be close to you.

Tay

Tay

Male - 1-1/2 years

Tay is a 1 1/2 year old male aussie mix who was surrendered due to family circumstances. He is deaf, food motivated and knows some hand signals. He is good with other dogs, kids and seems disinterested in cats. Tay is trained to an invisible fence, crate trained and is good in the house. He looks like a small Great Dane.

Turner

Turner

Male - 3 years

Turner is a 3 year old neutered male who was dumped in a restaurant parking lot. He is a big gentle aussie at 71#. He loves to be near his people and likes to sleep with his head on the pillow next to his foster mom. She is working on getting him to sleep at the bottom of the bed because he snores! Good with children and other dogs.

Wendy

Wendy

Female - 4 years

Wendy is a four year old aussie who is slowly coming out of her shell. She enjoys playing with the other dogs in the foster home and is now comfortable with her foster mom, but is still afraid of the husband. The slightest thing can scare her and she immediately retreats to her safe spot-her crate. Wendy is completely housetrained and very gentle. We think Wendy would do best in a quiet home with a confident dog for a friend and example. Because she is a flight risk, we will require a securely fenced yard for her. Helping Wendy to enjoy life and receive her affection will be a very rewarding experience for the right home.

Zeus

Zeus

Male - 1 year

His foster's son named him Zeus (but he is more of a dork than that name suggests). This young boy is under a year old, loves people, other dogs, and is fine with cats. He is a typical young male clown and will make you laugh every day. He steals laundry and wiggles when you catch him with no remorse. He is NOT housetrained and needs an experienced dog owner to help him with that. He can be mouthy and quick to use his teeth in play. Due to that and a bit of (not serious) guarding behavior most families with young kids would not be a suitable home. Zeus is going to NEED A JOB. He would be great for someone that wants a performance dog for agility, obedience, etc. Something to keep his mind busy. He is biddable, focused on his handler and wants to work.
